Here are 3 Insider tips:
Being a homeowner comes with so many responsibilities, both big and small, that may be new to you (hello adulting). One of those is making sure you spend some quality time with your HVAC unit! Here is a quick and easy guide on how to keep your unit running smoothly and what you need to do to keep your system clean!
Replace your filters: Filters are a HUGE part of helping your HVAC run at it’s best. Did you know that doing so can also increase its lifespan! You can get new filters at any local hardware store or you can even sign up for a delivery service that brings it straight to your door! Link here!
Clean around your outdoor unit: Although your outside unit is made strong enough to stand up to the elements, there is pesky debris that can get inside, which can lead to some problems down the road. All you simply need to do is sweep around the unit and and make sure the surrounding area is free of any debris, including branches, leaves or excess dirt. Make sure to also check the air intake area so that nothing is blocking or might be stuck in the airflow.
Clean air vents and registers: These parts of your HVAC are so important! They are located inside your home and they are what help distribute cool air and heat throughout your house! Use your vacuum hose attachment to get rid of anything that may be clogged with dust.
Clean the air ducts: Ductwork can get clogged. Make sure you wipe down everything well and while you’re at it you might as well go ahead and use that vacuum again to get all of those hard to reach places.
Spending some time maintaining aspects of your home can help prevent those big headache issues later!
